Daniel Castilla, a young promise in Spanish athletics, started his journey in the sport at the age of 4. However, it was at 14 when he met Olympic athlete Yidiel Contreras, who would become his coach. Since then, his career has been unstoppable.

In 2020, at 16, he won his first national gold in the 60-meter hurdles indoors, breaking the Spanish under-16 record. Two years later, he added the under-18 title in the same event and made his international debut at the Gymnasiade in Normandy (France), reaching the final of the 110-meter hurdles.

In 2023, at just 18, he stepped onto the podium at the Spanish Indoor Championships, earning bronze in the 60-meter hurdles. That same year, he broke the Spanish under-20 record in the event, showcasing his talent and consistency.
