Oriol Elcacho was born in Barcelona in 1979. He got scouted during the early 2000 while working in a sportswear store in the city.
Paris was the city that "adopted" him in his beginnings, where the opportunity to be photographed by Karl Lagerfeld for Numéro magazine. In 2001 he walked for his first time on the Milan fashion week in order to make the big leap to New York in 2002, where he starred in a campaign for Valentino by Steven Meisel.
His first international campaign for Ralph Lauren came in 2004. Oriol is one of the most recognized face of the brand, which who he has a great relationship after so many years.
Oriol has been the image of numerous fragrances such as Aqva by Bulgari, Ermenegildo Zegna Colonia, Massimo Dutti and Laura Biagiotti. He has starred in numerous campaigns for prestigious brands as Ralph Lauren, Valentino, Gianfranco Ferré, Bally, Missoni, Gap, Ermenegildo Zegna, Canali, Emidio Tucci, Massimo Dutti, Mango and Pedro del Hierro.
Elcacho has walked for Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Roberto Cavalli, Paul Smith, Louis Vuitton and Valentino on catwalks in New York, Milan and Paris. He has also posed for many of the great fashion photographers from now and forever like Bruce Weber, Steven Meisel, Karl Lagerfeld, Inez & Vinoodh, Mert & Marcus, Mario Sorrenti, Ellen von Unwerth, Patrick Demarchelier, Arnaldo Anaya, Mario Testino, Nico Bustos, Txema Yeste and Sergi Pons. Works which have positioned him as a regular face in the major fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Glamor, GQ, Details, The Rake and WWD.
During his career he has been awarded by several publications, he received the GQ Men of the Year Award in 2008, Glamour Award 2009, Men's Health Award 2010, GQ Ermenegildo Zegna Award in 2011, Robb Report Award 2015, Gentleman Magazine Award 2017 and Icon Award in 2019.
In 2015, the model decided to launch a new project combining his entrepreneurial spirit with that of his childhood friend and owner of the Mas de les Vinyes winery. With the viticulturist Josep Borràs, he began a collaboration parallel to his profession as a model, and made a dream come true: to launch a red wine called “Traca i Mocador” within the DO Monsant. In 2016 the two friends expanded their business adventure with “Traca i Mocador” Blanc (white), a reference that quickly positioned itself with excellent ratings in specialized guides.
Oriol has shared his life with Davinia Pelegrí, the renowned Catalan model, for more than thirteen years. Today, Pelegrí continues to consolidate her interest in the most creative side of fashion with creative projects as photographer parallel to her solid career as a model. The couple recently gave birth to their second daughter Violeta, sister of Simón, their first child, a fact that has filled the couple with happiness.
