Matteo Martari was born in Verona on 12 December 1983, after graduating from the hostelry school, at 21 he moved to Milan and began working as a model for some of the most prestigious fashion houses: Prada, Moschino, Mash, Franklin & Marshall, Woolrich , Diesel. But what he always wanted to become an actor. And so his passion for acting leads him to attend the Quelli di Grock theater school in Milan.  In 2012 he made his debut in the theater playing in the play “An angel has descended to Babylon”, directed by Fernanda Calati and in 2013 he was back on stage with the theatrical show “Yerma”, by Maurizio Salvalalio.

The first set arrived in 2014, he was in the cast of “Under the Series”, a web series extracted from the book by Giulia Gubellini directed by Ivan Silvestrin that in September was presented at Roma Web Fest and won seven awards.

In 2015 he made his debut in the cinema with a part in the comedy “Happiness is a complex system”, directed by Gianni Zanasi. In the same year he joined the main cast of the TV series “Non Kill” in the role of the policeman Andrea Russo, who will resume in the 2017 in the second season of the series.

In 2016 he starred in the Rai1 TV miniseries "Luisa Spagnoli" directed by Lodovico Gasparini, in the role of Giovanni Buitoni alongside Luisa Ranieri. Also, in 2016 he starred in the television series Hundred to Go, produced in collaboration by BMW and Fox and aired on Fox .

In 2017 he is the protagonist of two TV series for RAI 1: “A step from heaven 4” in the role of Albert Kroess, "The Maestro" and “Undercover 2” in which he plays the role of deputy chief Francesco Visentin.  Also, in 2017 he returns to the big screen with two films. He stars together with Matilde Gioli in the film “2night”  directed by Ivan Silvestrini and the film “Il mio Godard” (Le Redoutable), presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017, directed by Michel Hazanavicius, Oscar winner in 2011.

In 2018, he plays the role of Luigi Tenco in the TV film Fabrizio De André - Free Prince and participates in the second season of “I bastardi di Pizzofalcone” in the role of the magistrate Diego Buffardi. In autumn 2018, he was part of the main cast of the second season of the international blockbuster “I Medici”.

In 2019 he is the co-star of 2 television series and stars in the film "The Goddess of Fortune" by director Ferzan Ozpetek

In 2020 he is the protagonist of some new Rai TV series. In March 2020 he co-starred with Cristiana Capotondi in the Rai 1 miniseries "Bella da morte" directed by Andrea Molaioli, he plays the role of inspector Marco Corvi.
