Spanish actress and journalist born in 1969, Madrid. She is part of a family of great actors, she is the daughter of Fernando Guillén and Gemma Cuervo. Her professional beginnings are located on the small screen in the year 1986, with a small role in the series Segunda enseñanza. In the following years, she combined her theatrical activity with appearances on television and her debut in the big screen.

Since the decade of 2000, she maintains her presence in television, cinema and theatre, combining the work of the actress with journalism. She is also a columnist in the national daily El Mundo.

In 2015 she began to play the character of Irene Larra in the series El Misterio del Tiempo. The following year she appeared in the Spanish television contest, Masterchef Celebrity where she got the second place and in 2017, she joined as a collaborator in the program Amigas y conocidas. In 2019 she appeared in one episode of Paquita Salas, portraying herself.

She has been for more than 10 years the face of the program Versión Española, the point of reference for the world of the Culture of Spain and she participates in the series of success Amar en tiempos revueltos.

In 2019 she has appeared in films such as La maldición del guapo, El crack cero or El secreto de Ibosim.

During this year she also participated as host of the TV show “Cena con mama”, where interviews with well-known people are mixed with gastronomy.

In 2022, she was elected president of the Academy of Performing Arts of Spain with an absolute majority, being the first woman to head this organism.

Cayetana is married to photographer Omar Ayyashi, and they have one son.
